Young people from across Fife were celebrated for their creativity, confidence and entrepreneurial spirit at this year’s Big Bag Challenge Celebration Event, hosted at Fife Fabrications.
Delivered by DYW Fife and supported through Fife Council’s Economic Development Team (InvestFife) Culture of Enterprise programme, the challenge gave pupils the opportunity to experience the world of business first-hand by designing, marketing and selling bags donated by The Multibank.
The event showed how programmes like this can help young people build important skills for the future in a practical and engaging way. Throughout the challenge, pupils developed confidence in teamwork, communication, problem solving and presenting ideas.
Celia Sinclair, Economic Adviser at Fife Council’s Economic Development Team (InvestFife) and one of the judges on the day, said:
“At Fife Council we are passionate about supporting young people to build confidence and develop skills that can help them in the future, whether that’s moving into work, further education or starting their own business. Programmes like the Big Bag Challenge give young people the chance to learn about business from the ground up in a fun and supportive environment. It was fantastic to see so much creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork on display throughout the event.”
The judging panel were impressed by the originality and professionalism shown during the presentations, with pupils confidently sharing their business ideas and experiences from the challenge.
Congratulations went to Glenwood High School’s “Bag Boutique”, who were named winners of this year’s Big Bag Challenge.
Fife Council’s Economic Development Team (InvestFife) would also like to thank DYW Fife, Fife Fabrications, The Multibank and everyone who supported the event as judges and guests, helping to make the day such a positive experience for the young people involved.
