The Levenmouth Rail Link is anticipated to commence passenger services from Spring 2024. This infrastructure initiative will enhance connections to Dundee and the East Coast main line, facilitating direct train routes to London, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.

ROAD

Accessing Levenmouth is easy with the A92 running through central Fife to connect with the north of Scotland and the M90 connecting Fife with Edinburgh.

The Leven Connectivity Project has secured £14.4M in investment to bolster the creation of 30km of active and sustainable connections. This initiative not only boosts local infrastructure but also opens up significant economic prospects, fostering sustainable growth.

This investment marks a pivotal moment in the region's economic development, providing essential infrastructure to accommodate growing businesses and attract new ventures. With a commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability, these state-of-the-art facilities will serve as catalysts for economic growth, driving employment opportunities and strengthening the local community.

Since 2015, a total of 48 hectares have been transformed through 25 development projects, resulting in the creation of 1,094 housing units. Such a robust investment not only enriches the local economy but also enhances the quality of life for residents, positioning the area as a desirable destination for further investment opportunities.

Revitalising the Levenmouth Rail Link, this £116 million investment is set to make a significant impact on the region's economy and connectivity. With new train stations at Cameron Bridge and Leven, this project supports sustainable travel for tourists, locals, workers, students, and freight. Forth Ports

Burntisland, Kirkcaldy and Methil make up Forth Port’s Fife satellite ports, providing a variety of high-value services to their tenants and surrounding business communities. This includes the capability and capacity for handling dry bulk, decommissioning, oil & gas, agriculture, renewables, breakbulk, and paper & forest products. Harland and Wolff

The Group acquired the former Bi-Fab site in Methil in February 2021, which is home to one of Europe’s largest fabrication halls.

SGN

H100 Fife project is laying the foundations for this change while giving residents in the local area the opportunity to be at the leading edge of the low-carbon economy. SGN is developing a world-first hydrogen network in Buckhaven that will bring renewable hydrogen into homes, providing zero-carbon fuel for heating and cooking. In the project’s first phase, the network will heat around 300 local homes using clean gas produced by a dedicated electrolysis plant, powered by a nearby offshore wind turbine. The project is the first of its kind to employ a direct supply of clean power to produce hydrogen for domestic heating – putting Fife at the forefront of the clean energy revolution.

Located off the Fife coast, ORE Catapult’s Levenmouth Demonstration Turbine (LDT) is the world’s most advanced, open-access offshore wind turbine dedicated to R&D. Unique among offshore wind testing facilities, the towering 7MW machine plays host to some of the industry’s most exciting innovations for testing and validation. Connected to shore by a short ramp, the Turbine is an integral part of our testing and Validation facilities. It allows developers to demonstrate new systems and methods – without the associated time and costs of conducting tests at a working offshore wind farm.

Silberline

Silberline is a global provider of aluminum effect pigments that are used in a wide variety of applications, from automotive paints and printing inks to plastics, protective coatings and consumer packaged goods. The company has operated out of Leven for over 50 years.

Diageo

Diageo is proud to have been bottling whiskey for over 50 years at its Leven plant. Leven is Diageo’s largest packaging plant in the world and is responsible for producing brands such as Tanqueray, Gordon’s, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Johnnie Walker, Talisker and Lagavulin, which are then exported to 180 countries around the world. Diageo Leven currently employs over 600 people.
