A new chapter for Mossmorran

Mossmorran represents one of Fife’s most significant opportunities for future industrial investment.

Following more than 40 years of operation at ExxonMobil’s Fife Ethylene Plant, the site is entering a new chapter. Work is underway with partners to secure a sustainable long term future, attract new investment and create opportunities for high value employment.

The ambition is to identify uses that build on Mossmorran’s strategic importance while supporting the next generation of industrial activity in Fife. Opportunities could include energy, low carbon technologies, advanced manufacturing and other high value industrial uses.

The site is being actively promoted to the market, creating an opportunity for businesses, developers and investors to help shape the future of one of Scotland’s significant industrial locations.

Strategically located

A new chapter for Mossmorran

The ExxonMobil Mossmorran site is an established industrial location in central Fife, close to the A92 and M90 road corridors as well as port and rail assets.

The site extends to circa 250 acres and is served by nationally significant utility connections including electricity assets and gas pipelines.

The site is adjacent to ongoing Shell operations within the Mossmorran complex, which are regulated under the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations.
