Forth Green Freeport has reached a major milestone, with UK and Scottish Government approval of its Full Business Case in December 2025. This milestone formally moves the programme from development into delivery and unlocks £25 million in seed funding.
Fife will benefit directly, securing £13 million of the seed funding to accelerate key projects at the Rosyth Tax Site. Interest continues to build, with around 85 confidential investment enquiries for strategic sites - many focused on Fife due to its connectivity, assets, and skilled workforce.
Forth Green Freeport spans three local authority areas and four ports, with the aim of driving economic transformation across the Forth Corridor. Over the next 25 years, the programme will support innovation, attract global investment, develop the green skills of the future, and enable the transition to a net zero economy.

Fife is also well placed to benefit from the Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm, one of the world’s largest offshore projects, presenting major long‑term opportunities for jobs and investment at Rosyth and Burntisland.
