Five Fife businesses, including Compugraphics International Ltd, Semefab, Quality Precision Electronics, Cerebral Ape Ltd, and Fife Fabrications, participated in the Semicon Europe Trade Show in Munich, Germany, thanks to Fife Council’s Trade Development Programme. Collectively the businesses generated over 43 enquiries from their attendance.
Semicon Europa, attended by over 42,000 people and featuring 439 exhibitors, attracted influential figures in European microelectronics. The event focused on critical industry issues such as sustainability and workforce development.
Quality Precision Electronics, as one of the attendees, made a £70,000 capital equipment investment, which will enhance their production capabilities. This acquisition was made through a supplier they met at Semicon. Additionally, they identified a much-needed software upgrade that will contribute to the expansion of their business. Russell Dillon from QPE remarked, 'We are pleased to have participated in Semicon Europa. Fortunately, we were able to acquire a new piece of sought-after equipment from a new supplier. When combined with our software upgrades, this will significantly contribute to the growth of our business.”
Compugraphics International Ltd also praised the Trade Development Programme’s support, acknowledging “the well-organised trip that raised their industry profile.”
Fife Council’s Trade Development Programme supports local businesses by providing financial assistance, market intelligence, and networking opportunities.
Dot Smith, Enterprise and Business Development Manager at Fife Council highlighted, “Our Trade Development Programme aims to enable local Fife businesses to attend significant events and trade shows and establish new connections, as well as demonstrate their expertise within the sector.
The success of the businesses at Semicon Europe showcases the programme's effectiveness in supporting growth and internationalisation for Fife businesses.”
