Scunnered Digital, a growing digital marketing agency, is the latest success story to emerge from Dunfermline’s business hub in the Maygate Exchange.
They recently vacated the hub to move into larger premises of their own, marking a significant milestone for the business and demonstrating the vital role Maygate Exchange plays in supporting early-stage businesses.
Founded by sisters Colleen and Alana Reid in 2020, Scunnered Digital specialises in helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) master digital marketing.
As part of their commitment to the local community, Scunnered Digital also leads the Dive In Tae Digital programme, funded by Fife Council. The initiative provides unemployed young people aged 16-30 with digital marketing training and paid work placements in local businesses facing digital skills gaps. By helping bridge this gap, the programme strengthens the digital economy in Fife and fosters regional business growth.
The Maygate Exchange has played a pivotal role in Scunnered Digital’s journey, offering a central Dunfermline location, modern facilities, and a welcoming business community ideal for start-up businesses.
Colleen said: “Being based at The Maygate Exchange gave us a professional front—it looked slick and modern, which made a huge difference when meeting clients. But it was the people and the connections that really opened doors.
“Fife Council’s Town Centre Development Unit introduced us to everyone passing through, and being based there allowed us to connect with local councillors who used the space. Those introductions created opportunities we wouldn’t have had access to otherwise.”
Cllr Altany Craik, the council’s spokesperson for Finance, Economy & Strategic Planning emphasised the importance of spaces like Maygate Exchange in supporting business growth. He added: “The Town Centre Development Unit is focused on supporting our town centres and creating the right environment for businesses to succeed. Scunnered Digital’s story shows exactly why Maygate Exchange is here - to provide flexible, affordable space where local businesses can grow.
Office space is now available to rent at Maygate Exchange. The Town Centre Development Unit is keen to hear from start-ups ready to establish a professional base or growing businesses looking for flexible office space.
Located in the heart of Dunfermline’s Heritage Quarter, Maygate Exchange offers the ideal environment to thrive. With modern facilities, a central location, and support from Fife Council’s Town Centre Development Unit, it’s the perfect place for businesses to grow.
