Fife young entrepreneurs took the spotlight at Dragon’s Den 2025, held at Studio8, Glenrothes. Young people from seven local schools showcased their social enterprise ideas, pitching to a panel of Fife business leaders.
Organised as part of Fife Council’s Culture of Enterprise Programme, Dragon’s Den promotes creativity, teamwork, and social responsibility among young people. The event was delivered in partnership with Social Enterprise Academy, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), and proudly sponsored by Amazon Dunfermline.
Dragon’s Den 2025 gives Fife young entrepreneurs real-world experience in business while focusing on community impact. Competing schools included:
The panel of “Dragons” featured Dot Smith (Fife Council), John Aitken (Amazon Dunfermline), Scott Galloway (Home Sweet Home Estate Agents), and Joan Alexander (Social Enterprise Academy), who evaluated the pitches based on innovation, community benefit, and sustainability.
As a key sponsor, Amazon Dunfermline emphasised the value of enterprise education. John Aitken, General Manager’s Assistant at Amazon Dunfermline, shared:

Following a series of high-quality pitches, the judges crowned two joint winners:
The young entrepreneurs from Bellyeoman Primary School reflected:
"We had so much fun working on our idea and sharing it with the Dragons. Presenting was a little nerve-wracking, but we’re so happy to have won! We’re excited to keep developing our project."
Aberdour Primary pupils added:
"It was a brilliant experience! We learned teamwork, idea generation, and public speaking skills. We’re proud the Dragons liked our idea and can’t wait to take it further."
Joan Alexander from Social Enterprise Scotland praised all participants:
"It’s fantastic to see young people so engaged with social enterprise. Their passion, creativity, and commitment to making a difference are truly inspiring. Every team should be proud of their achievements today."
Dot Smith, Enterprise and Business Development Manager for Economic Development, highlighted the wider importance:
