Fife Enterprise Information Pack Launches to Inspire Young Entrepreneurs

Fife Council’s Economic Development team, in partnership with Education and Children's Services, has launched the Fife Enterprise Information Pack, a valuable resource for students, educators, and parents looking to explore entrepreneurship, business skills, and enterprise education. 

Developed in collaboration with Fife Council’s Culture of Enterprise Programme (CoE), Education and Children’s Services, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Fife, Social Enterprise Academy, Young Enterprise Scotland, Business Gateway Fife, and Fife College, this enterprise education guide offers students across Fife a pathway to business success and innovation. 

Supporting Grassroots Enterprise in Education 

The Fife Enterprise Information Pack aligns with Fife’s Economic Strategy, ensuring young people have access to grassroots enterprise opportunities that build problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and entrepreneurial thinking. 

Expert Insights on Enterprise in Schools 

Pamela Stevenson, Service Manager for Fife Council’s Economic Development, emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship education from an early stage: 

"Encouraging young people to develop an entrepreneurial mindset early in their education is vital for shaping the future workforce. This booklet showcases a wealth of grassroots enterprise opportunities that will inspire students to explore business, innovation, and self-employment as real career pathways." 

Maria Lloyd, Head of Education Services at Fife Council, highlighted the role of enterprise skills in preparing students for career success: 

"Embedding enterprise education in schools is key to building resilience, creativity, and business acumen in young people. This resource provides a vital link between education and industry, helping young people develop essential entrepreneurial skills that will support them throughout their careers and contribute to a thriving local economy." 

Iain Hawker, Assistant Principal at Fife College, reinforced the importance of enterprise skills in further education: 

"Grassroots enterprise initiatives lay the foundation for young people to develop confidence in business and leadership. At Fife College, we are committed to building on these skills by offering students the opportunity to further explore entrepreneurship through practical learning and real-world experiences. This booklet is an excellent tool to help young people begin their enterprise journey providing a solid foundation for their post school student or employment pathway."
