InvestFife, the collective brand for Fife Council’s Economic Development Services and Business Gateway Fife, has successfully concluded its 14th annual Fife Business Week, marking a resounding success. In total, Fife Business Week featured an impressive lineup of twenty events, drawing participation from 504 businesses and stakeholders across the region. Attendees were able to take advantage of a wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities, with events designed to address specific challenges faced by the business community.
In alignment with Fife's Economic Strategy, the events of the week tackled vital priorities within our key sectors, encompassing Advanced Manufacturing, Food & Drink, Tourism, Energy, Fintech, and Construction. These priorities included supporting businesses in recovery and growth, investing in business premises and infrastructure, and providing skills, training, and fair employment opportunities.
One of the highlights of Fife Business Week was the successful Meet the Buyer event. This year, the flagship event saw over 180 visitors attend and included for the first time a Construction Zone, which brought together key buyers from the construction sector such as Fife Council, hub East Central Scotland, BAM UK & Ireland, Morgan Sindall, Kilmac, Lovell Partnerships, FES Group, Hadden Group, Robertson Partnership Homes and Balfour Beatty. This new zone provided attendees with valuable networking and contracting opportunities available within the construction sector.
Lovell Partnerships Ltd had the remarked the following on the event.
“Thank you to Fife Council’s Economic Development and the Supplier Development Programme for delivering a great Meet the Buyer event. It was lovely to meet all the local businesses and learn about the brilliant products and services they provide to the local area.
We can’t wait to continue our chats when our developments in Fife start to take shape.”
Business attendee Colin Townsend commented “Some great new contacts in the Construction Zone and picking up valuable information about tenders and frameworks across Scotland.”
Fife Council Economic Development would like to thank all attendees, partners, stakeholders, and, of course, event hosts for contributing to the overwhelming success of Fife Business Week 2023. The collaborative spirit displayed during the week highlights Fife's commitment to creating a thriving business environment and promoting future opportunities through supply chain and market developments.
Commenting on the overall success of Fife Business Week, Pamela Stevenson, Service Manager for Economic Development at Fife Council, said: "I was delighted to engage and experience the success of Fife Business Week 2023 once more.
