Fife is pioneering a more sustainable and low-carbon future with its event 'Fife – A Place for Energy’, which was held at the Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline, 12 June.
Fife – A Place for Energy highlighted cutting-edge local energy projects and explored how the region can play a leading role in Scotland’s energy transition and in tackling the climate crisis. The event crucially looked at how Fife can work with partners across the Southeast and beyond to help shift to a cleaner, more sustainable energy system.
Over 150 attendees, including key figures from Fife Council, national agencies, housing associations, developers and industry discussed and debated how to move towards a more resilient and greener energy future.
Cllr Jan Wincott, Spokesperson for Environment and Climate Change, Fife Council, said: “This event showcased Fife’s ground-breaking energy projects and helped forge partnerships to create a cleaner, fairer and more sustainable future for all. The event underscored Fife’s potential and ambition to be at the forefront of Scotland’s energy transformation.”
The keynote address delivered by Fergus Tickell, Regional Energy Strategic Planning Manager for Scotland at NESO, provided an overview of Scotland’s Regional Energy Strategic Plans and how Fife can lead the way in shaping Scotland’s energy future.
