An exciting opportunity is available for a producer to become a part of one of Fife’s most cutting-edge food and drink communities.
Bowhouse, the Fife centre for food and drink production and development, has a purpose-built production unit available for lease.
The 30-metre squared space is situated in the central courtyard of Bowhouse close to the main entrance. Built in the mid-19th century and still retaining many of its original features and charm, the unit allows customers to move freely through the courtyard past the units up towards the café and ‘Market Street’. Partly glazed, the unit opens onto the courtyard, with wide access doors ideal for customers and bulk deliveries. The back walls of the units are punctuated with small porthole windows, giving a glimpse of the fields beyond.
The available unit has an existing built in kitchen space including two residential ovens and hob tops with extractor fan, sink, work surface and storage.
Ideal for small-scale retail and the production of local food and drink. New producers will join an existing community of makers transforming local ingredients that includes a flour mill, brewery with taproom and butchery.
As well as the opportunity to collaborate with existing resident businesses, the new tenant at Bowhouse will be able to take part in the monthly Market Weekends, which attract a footfall of around 4,200.
Based on Balcaskie Estate, Bowhouse opened in 2017 to provide the missing link between farm and fork, with a mission to connect maker with consumer. Connecting consumer with makers and growers, Bowhouse promotes the opportunity to meet the makers and integrate their produce where possible into events.
Balcaskie Estate is a modern working farm and estate at the heart of the East Neuk of Fife. The estate is committed to cultivating and caring for the natural environment, nurturing local businesses and supporting our vibrant community. It is part of the East Neuk Estates. The East Neuk of Fife is renowned for quality food produce from both land and sea, with a rich and diverse culture based around the scenic fishing villages.
