SMAS continuous improvement in action business lunch

SMAS continuous improvement in action business lunch

1 1 people viewed this event.

Join Fife manufacturers at Leviton for a factory tour, learning and lunch. Explore operations, tech investment and support.

Learn about continuous improvement in practice

Manufacturing businesses across Fife are facing increasing pressure to improve productivity, reduce waste and build resilient, competitive operations.

To support manufacturers in the region, Scottish Enterprise’s Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) and Fife Council, Economic Development (InvestFife). are hosting a joint ‘go see’ business breakfast, hosted on-site at Leviton.

This event offers a unique opportunity to step inside a live manufacturing environment and see continuous improvement in action – bringing lean thinking and operational excellence to life beyond theory.

Learn from Leviton’s continuous improvement journey

Hear directly from Leviton as they share their continuous improvement journey – how they have approached change, developed capability within their teams, and embedded improvements into day-to-day operations

This real-world perspective will highlight what it takes to move from intention to impact, including practical lessons, challenges and success along the way

Connecting you to practical support in Fife

Alongside the site visit, SMAS and Fife Council, Economic Development (InvestFife). will outline the practical support available to manufacturing businesses locally and nationally.

You will gain insight into how partners work together to help businesses:

  • Improve productivity, operational performance and investment plans
  • Access advice, funding and specialist support
  • Develop leadership, skills and continuous improvement capability
  • Build long-term resilience and competitiveness

Next steps: build capability through the SMAS Business Improvement Academy

The event will also introduce the reimagined SMAS Business Improvement Academy (BIA), launching in Fife, in August 2026.

The Academy is designed to help manufacturers turn insight into action by:

  • Embedding continuous improvement into everyday operations
  • Delivering real business impact through live improvement projects
  • Developing leaders who can drive sustainable change

This breakfast provides the perfect opportunity to see what good looks like in practice – and understand how to replicate that success within your own business.

Who should attend?

This event is intended primarily for manufacturing businesses based in Fife. Priority will be given to business owners, directors and senior leaders from manufacturing companies who are looking to improve operations, explore investment opportunities and connect with relevant regional support, for example:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger manufacturing companies
  • Business owners, directors and senior managers
  • Operations, production, engineering and improvement leads
