Outsource Laboratory Ltd (OSL) is a full-service food testing laboratory in Glenrothes. Founders, Duncan Perry and Fiona Galloway opened the laboratory in November 2023 to service the food industry across Scotland.
PCR analysis is testing using the unique fingerprint of DNA and RNA with the highly progressive PCR technology. Turnover of results, upon receipt, is 24 hours which allows, in many cases, Positive Release. Analysis has extended to include traditional plate microbiology, advanced chromogenic dry plates, lateral flow tests, ELISA tests for Microbiological, Speciation, Allergens, GMO, and Viral Pathogens. Product analysis, shelf-life analysis, water testing and swab analysis is also offered. Furthermore, OSL has introduced other parameters affecting shelf life such as salt, pH, water activity and moisture content.
The laboratory currently has a team of 5 including a driver to collect samples throughout Scotland. The laboratory has
CLAS 17025 ( Campden Laboratory Approval Scheme).
