Modern Standard grew out of a desire to bring great coffee to more people; to make it accessible to all and create a speciality at scale roastery.
Starting in 2015, we are now a team of 30 and growing. We source our coffees directly from the producers at origin, roast them at our roastery in Glenrothes, and we can support our customers up and down the country.
One of the few female founded and run coffee businesses in the UK, Modern Standard is the idea to bring the best of everything together; speciality coffee at scale, market leading technical support, wonderful customer service and a team that works together and genuinely cares about the customer and the coffee they are serving. We are a family of driven coffee professionals that work together to produce great coffee, while always aiming to have the best impact we can on the industry, the environment and the communities it connects.
Our ethically sourced, direct trade specialty coffees are available to order online, with click and collect available for local customers to the roastery. For those customers that need a little more advice, you are able to visit our roastery shop during opening hours and speak with our knowledgeable team who can advise you on what’s in season and tasting great, to little tips and tricks to make great coffee at home.
