Welcome to Mind Matters.
My name is Joanne and I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Group Work Therapist.
I am a skilled, warm and empathetic practitioner with a keen interest in personal development in the field of CBT and in all modalities of Psychotherapy.
I pride myself on the relationships I build with my clients which forms the basis of the work we are able to achieve together. I work collaboratively in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in order to achieve this. My goal is to create a healing and empowering therapeutic environment to nurture personal growth and well-being.
I am experienced in delivering high-quality, protocol-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions in line with the DSM-IV and NICE Guidelines. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BABCP) and work within this ethical framework.
I specialise in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic, Low Self-Esteem, Trauma and PTSD. I also have specialist training and experience in working with Baby Loss, Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and with the Armed Forces Community.
I believe that therapy is a gift that everyone should experience in their lives in order to heal, grow and become the best version of themselves. I support this by helping clients understand the influence of their past experiences and creating new ways of thinking and being. This, in turn, paves the way to shape the future they want to live.
It was through my own therapeutic journey I embarked upon this journey in becoming a therapist and I am passionate about providing the same life-changing experiences for my clients.Help is at hand if you are willing to take the first step and reach out for support. You do not need to struggle alone.
Together We Will Get There.
