The vision of starting Kilmac arrived thanks to a long-term friendship between qualified civil engineers Richard Kilcullen and Athole McDonald. From their homes, they collectively launched what is now Kilmac Ltd.
From those modest beginnings, Kilmac has built a successful civil engineering contracting business with an annual turnover of £20 million.
More than 130 staff are managed from our Delta House headquarters in Dundee’s Technology Park. Our regional office in Livingston continues to deal with the growing number of contracts we are securing across the central belt of Scotland.
High-profile infrastructure contracts for our select national clients have included the new Madras College in St Andrews that opened in 2021, the Broughty Ferry flood defences, and the Edinburgh University’s Nucleus project. Additionally, we have delivered completed work on the expansion of the James Hutton Institute in Invergowrie, the transformation of Perth City Hall to provide a new home for the Stone of Destiny, and groundworks for a string of local authority schools, supermarkets, housing associations and motor dealerships.
