A new oil infrastructure decommissioning facility at Energy Park Fife, Methil, is on track to open later this year.

CessCon Decom which provides a vast range of services across the decommissioning lifecycle, now has all the necessary licences and authorisations to start operating.

CessCon Chief Executive, Lee Hanlon, said that the company was very much on track to open in the fourth quarter of 2020, once works are completed to enhance the quayside and build a water collection and treatment facility. The multi-million-pound investment was delayed slightly due to COVID-19, but the works are underway once again, and the business is participating in several live tenders for decommissioning projects.

Employment is expected to be created with each project likely generating between 30 to 50 positions.
