Babcock International Group one of the winners of £1.4m Clean Maritime Call

£1.4m has been awarded to 10 organisations as part of the Clean Maritime Call, a Maritime Research and Innovation UK (MarRI-UK) initiative supported by the Department for Transport (DfT). The grants will help find innovative ways to develop technology to assist the UK’s transition to a future of zero emission shipping, a long term ambition of Government.

Eden Mill is donating hand sanitiser to charities and hospices across Scotland

The brewer and distiller is distributing an initial 1000 bottles of antibacterial hand gel to CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) Robin House in Balloch (pictured), The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, and five charities supported by Eden Mill’s sponsorship partner, the Celtic Foundation: The Salvation Army at Parkhead, Spirit Aid, FARE Scotland, The Wayside Club and Glasgow’s Golden Generation. Eden Mill is also supporting care facilities close to its distilleries, including Eden Hospice in Carlisle and Barrogil Care Home in Cluny, near its site in Guardbridge.

Diageo employees make hand sanitiser for local communities in scotland

Briggs Marine secures seven year contract with Forth Ports

Briggs Marine has been awarded a seven-year contract with leading UK Port Authority, Forth Ports Limited. The contract is for the maintenance of vital Aids to Navigation on the Forth and Tay Rivers and commenced on April 1st. Briggs Marine successfully retendered the work in early 2020. During the tendering process, Briggs Marine was selected due to their innovative solution which involves introducing telemetry lanterns and condition-based maintenance over the contract period, saving the client money and maximising full operational life of existing lanterns.
