Meet the Contractor generates supply chain possibilities for Fife businesses

InvestFife news

July 27, 2022

Over 130 attendees took part in the Meet the Contractor event held in Dunfermline to highlight contract opportunities available as part of the Dunfermline Learning Campus (DLC) and Westfield Energy Centre projects.

Teams from DLC and Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) met with delegates, offering vital information on supply chain opportunities. Businesses left encouraged and motivated to engage and bid. A survey was conducted after the event, which highlighted that 90 per cent of respondents rated the quality of supply chain information provided as either ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.

Jennifer Payne, Development Officer - Marketing and Events, Supplier Development Programme (SDP), said:

“In partnership with our members, Fife Council and hub East Central Scotland, SDP is supporting as many local businesses as possible into winning business from upcoming opportunities related to the Dunfermline Learning Campus and Westfield Energy Centre projects.

"The Supplier Development Programme has taken on the enormous challenge of supporting local authorities and Scotland’s construction sector to achieve the full potential of a productive and inclusive Scottish economy by facilitating the inclusion of micro, small and medium sized businesses at events like this. Due to our robust data reporting, we know our approach works: after the Fife Meet the Contractor event, 94 per cent of Scottish small businesses were more confident about bidding for future supply chain opportunities!”

Meet the Contractor was supported by Fife Council Economic Developmenthub East Central ScotlandHitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) and the Supplier Development Programme.
