CeeD in partnership with CodeClan invite you to our roundtable discussion on Digital in Manufacturing
December 9, 2020, 10.00 – 11.15
CeeD in partnership with CodeClan invite you to our roundtable discussion on Digital in Manufacturing on Wed 9th December from 10am to 11:15am via Zoom webinar.
Digital challenges that face manufacturing and engineering companies are often talked about and much is written about the step change to Industry4.0.
There are many technical and system challenges that need to be identified and solutions implemented to achieve this digital development and growth and the journey towards productivity gain, quality improvement and indeed impacting on carbon footprint.
The challenge is also one of skills and people – the inertia to take the first step because the internal capacity and knowledge is not available, or the barriers created because hiring new talent may seem difficult and expensive.
There are perhaps only perceived barriers, the complexity may not be as daunting as first thought and the ability to reskill existing staff who are well versed in the engineering skills but need the digital icing on top is easily achievable.
CeeD & CodeClan are coming together with an event to explore the issues and work with the community of engineering and manufacturing companies and organisations to identify what these barriers are and to test the opportunity for some logical and simple steps around the skills challenges, identify some existing tools and offerings, as well as explore knowledge solutions that could be provided to help take the first step or increase the rate of change to becoming more digital.
During the breakout session, we will be asking the following questions:
- Do you understand the opportunities that embracing digital can bring to help your existing and future operations?
- Could embracing digital skills and programming be one of the elements that will help you retain existing and win new business?
- Is re-skilling the existing workforce an approach that you might favour or need to embrace?
CeeD as a community engineering and manufacturing practitioner engages in best practice sharing on a peer to peer basis at its core and CodeClan, a well-respected delivery agent for digital/programming skills, is a great combination to explore these points/challenges.
We invite you to sign up and join the discussions to help identify the blockages and help the community of practice shape some of the practical steps to assist in the future growth.
