About this event
In the world of business, being fit for what we do in our working day can often be overlooked or overridden in favour of getting the job done no matter the cost to our body and our wellbeing. Getting through each week and reaching targets or breaking through them takes precedence over the quality of how we actually move and interact and often leaves us feeling stress, burnout, exhaustion and experiencing some pain or discomfort in our body.
A recent study (The Burnout report Mental Health UK 2024) showed 9 in 10 adults experiencing high or extreme stress in the past year and 1 in 5 needing to take time off work due to poor mental health caused by pressure or stress. In addition, new consumer research reveals that a third (33%) of Brits have taken at least one day off work due to back or neck pain in the past year, resulting in 12 days off work on average. A further fifth (23%) feel it has a negative impact on their working life.
These startling statistics expose how unfit for work we as a nation are and that true support such as this programme, that focuses on challenging the causes of pain, discomfort and chronic stress across society and preventing burnout is very much needed.
